The following is a list of upcoming "Speeder" events in North America and Australia. We have made every effort to insure accuracy, but mistakes do happen, so we will not be held responsible for errors or omissions.

Please note that virtually all of these events require operators to be qualified by NARCOA and to have valid NARCOA insurance in force. Some of the NARCOA affiliates require membership in their respective organizations. In some cases there are special qualification, equipment and clothing requirements. See respective websites for details. Non-NARCOA events are so noted.

Capital Metro transportation (Texas)
Join this fall run over the former SP Llano branch. This is a scenic stretch of tracks which parallels the Llano River and crosss the Colorado River on Lake LBJ. There will be abundant wildlife and open range vistas. Participants will travel from Llano through Kingsland to Scobey Spur. If time permits we will make a second trip to Kingsland.
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 54 miles.

This is a one-day run on the Blacklands railroad, a former Missouri Pacific line. We will make at least two round-trip runs between Henderson and Overton, With a third possible if time permits.
We will set on at Henderson.

This is a one-day run on the Blacklands Railroad, which is a former cotton belt line. Will travel between Winfield and Commerce.
We will set on at Winfield, Texas. 
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 125 miles. 
Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: Sturdy shoes and long pants required. No shorts or 10 issues. All cars must be preregistered. Experienced operators only, mentoring by permission only.

Mohawk, Adirondack and Northern (New York)
June, 29, 2013 1-day cost: $150. The price includes Railroad fees, and does not include meals and lodging. We suggest bringing lunches / food with you. There is a 35 car limit for this run. We need at least 22 cars 2 weeks before the scheduled date or the run will be annulled. This is a NARCOA insured excursion. All applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on. Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring Run. Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: Safety Vests, Hard Soled Over Ankle Shoes. Hy-rails permitted; heavy cars with permission only. Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable. You must be able to maintain 25 MPH on this run. As usual, NARCOA professionalism is expected and required on this run. Well behaved children over 10 years old permitted.

Delaware Lackawanna (Pennsylvania)
The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 2-day, approximately 130 mile run over the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad on October 12th and 13th. On Saturday we will have a very early set-on (starting at 6:00AM), as we must leave by 8:00AM. We will head East on the D&L through beautiful countryside, along the river, through at least one tunnel, past many restored stations through places with names like Tobyhanna, Gouldsboro, Moscow as we head for the Delaware Water Gap. We will make a lunch stop at Stroudsburg, and have been told that the Stroudsburg Tower will be opened for us there as well. We will make our turn at Point of Gap, and return again through the breathtaking Pennsylvania countryside traveling the route of the ‘Phoebe Snow’.  Truly a great day on the rails that awaits us! Saturday evening the cars will stay on track for an early departure Sunday morning (7:30AM) on the Laurel Trolley Line for an interesting trip back thru history. Though a relatively short run, it includes a trip through a 4900 ft. tunnel as we travel over this line. We will turn at the museum, and expect to return no later than 10:00 AM, leaving plenty of time to visit the Historic Steamtown Railroad Museum, and still get an early departure for home! As usual, NARCOA professionalism is expected and required on this run. Well behaved children over 10 years old O'K

We hope to have at least three trips during the day and possibly a night run. Enjoy the 156' high bridge and the Des Moines River bridge by the Y-Camp.

Appanoose County Railroad (Iowa)
This is the ride we refer to as the short ride using the 20 mile section between Centerville & the IC&E diamond. Friday evening we will set on at 6:00pm just south of the water tower in the southeast part of Centerville with a 6:45pm safety meeting and a 7:00pm departure. We will travel 20 miles north to near the IC&E diamond & return for a 40 mile total night run. Saturday set on for new arrivals will be at 8am with a 9:00am safety meeting & departure. Depending on the amount of cars we will try to get at least 3 trips with the last being an evening run for a total of 120 miles. If there is any interest for the ones staying over we will have 1 run on Sunday for a total of 40 miles. Approximate round trip mileage for the 3 days is 200 miles.
We will set on at Just south of the water tower in the southeast part of town at 6:00pm. Departure is scheduled for 7:00pm.

Saratoga North Creek (New York)
Saratoga and North Creek Saratoga and North Creek RR Out of North Creek, NY. Come join MAMA for our second year on this trip over the beautiful North Creek Railroad as we travel out of North Creek to the end of line. Friday Set On will begin approximately 12:00 PM with an afternoon run and night run possible, going South to Riparius. Saturdays run will leave when the railroad clears, and we will travel South to Saratoga Springs and turn for our trip back. Sunday's run is North over new trackage to the mine at Tahawus, where titanium and magnetite were mined, should be exciting to see this, it sure was last year. At this time, lunch is on your own, but stay tuned for updates.As Monday is a Holiday, it leaves a day for getting home leisurely.
We will set on at North Creek, NY at 1200 hrs. 
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 218 miles. This ride is limited to 35 cars.

Minnesota Northern / Dakota Northern (Minnesota/North Dakota)
The First Iowa Division will host a three (3) day Memorial Day excursion on the Minnesota Northern and Dakota Northern Railroads. DAY 1 – Minnesota Northern Railroad – Holt, MN to Roseau, MN and return. Due to trains being parked on the line, our set on location has changed. Approximate mileage is unknown at this time. Safety meeting will take place at 7:45 a.m. with a departure time of 8 a.m. sharp. Anyone arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event. DAY 2 – Dakota Northern Railroad – Grafton, ND to Walhalla, ND and return. Approximate mileage will be 96 miles. Set on will be at the ADM elevator parking lot from 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. Safety meeting will be at 8:45 a.m. with a 9 a.m. departure time. Anyone arriving after 8:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event. DAY 3 – Minnesota Northern Railroad – Crookston, MN to Beltrami, MN and return. Due to cars being stored on the Shelly line, we won't be able to ride this section. We hope to run the Beltrami line twice. Approximate mileage is unknown at this time. Set on will be at the MNN shop at Crookston, MN from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Safety meeting will be at 7:45 a.m. with an 8 a.m. departure time. Anyone arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event.
We will set on at South of Holt, MN by the repair shops, Grafton by the ADM elevator, Crookston by the MNN shops at 6:00. Departure is scheduled for 8:00.
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 290 miles.

The First Iowa Division will host a 2-day ride on the DMV&W Railroad at Britton, SD. Saturday we will set on north of the elevator in downtown Britton beginning at 6:30am. The safety meeting will be at 8:00am with an 8:15am departure. We will travel to the track limits east of Aberdeen with a stop both ways at Claremont. We'll return to Britton by mid-afternoon. There will be an optional evening run to Geneseo, ND with a stop at Rutland for an on your own supper at the Lariat Lounge and returning to Britton approximately 10pm. Our Sunday departure will be at 9:00am for Geneseo, ND with a stop at the Rutland Mercantile for on your own coffee and homemade sweet rolls. We will return to Britton at approximately 1:00pm for set off.
We will set on at By the elevator in downtown Britton at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:15am.

We will ride from Luverne east to Agate Jct. west of Worthington and return to Luverne for lunch at the grocery store near the depot. We'll run the line again eastward in the afternoon for a 120 mile grand total.

The First Iowa Division has again been asked to provide rides to the public for a fund raiser that the VFW hosts for restoring the Centerville Depot. This will be conducted the same as last year we will operate under their insurance policy Saturday August 2, 2014. Set on will begin at 6:30am just south of the water tower in the southeast part of town. I would like to thank everyone who came out & volunteered their cars & time last year & hope you can attend this year as we had many riders. As an added bonus for doing so the First Iowa Division will have an evening ride Friday August 1st with set on at 6:30pm & safety meeting & departure at 7:00pm riding up to the diamond & back. Sunday August 3rd we will have a safety meeting at 8:00am & ride out 20 miles & back. Please note the VFW August 2nd ride is not a NARCOA ride nor is it sanctioned by the First Iowa Division.
We will set on at South of the water tower in the southeast part of town at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:00am.

NYSW Utica Branch (New York)
The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 1-day, 90 mile excursion on the New York Susquehanna & Western Utica branch. Combined with the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley on August 2, 2015. This will be a great weekend riding the rails with MAMA. The price for the 1-day event is $60, which includes railroad fees. It does not include meals and lodging. We suggest bringing lunches/food with you. There is a 35 car limit for this run; We will set on in Sangerfield, NY, and travel back to Utica along this grand old route. Come and enjoy a great weekend of railroading with MAMA as we travel through scenic upstate New York! This is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on.Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring run. The NYS&W requires that ALL operators pass a Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee (NORAC) guidelines test prior to the excursion. If you are in possession of a current NORAC certification from another railroad, please include a copy with your registration form so that we may submit it to the NYS&W prior to the event. If you do not have a current certification, a NORAC classs/test will be available online. If you have attended a previous class and possess current NORAC certification you do not need to take the online class, but must bring proof with you to the excursion. We are sorry for any inconvenience or problem this might cause, but this is a requirement of the railroad. NORAC certification is good for three full years Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests, hard soled over ankle shoes, radios are required. Hi-rails permitted and heavy cars with permission only. Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable. You must be able to maintain 25 MPH on this run. The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 1-day, 30 mile run over the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley on August 2, 2015. Combined with the Saturday, August 1, 2015 excursion on the New York Susquehanna & Western Utica branch. This will be a great weekend riding the rails with MAMA. Participants will travel approximately 30 round trip miles between Milford, NY and Cooperstown Junction, NY. We will set on at Milford, NY at 07:30am, travel south to Cooperstown Junction, turn the cars, and head back North to Cooperstown. Departure is scheduled for 08:30am. We anticipate being in Cooperstown for two hours, so you will be able to see the sights, have lunch, and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. This ride is limited to 35 cars. Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring Run. This is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on. Hyrails permitted with the following restrictions: Must have current FRA paperwork/inspection. Heavy cars by permission only. Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests, hard soled over ankle shoes, radios are required. The price of the trip is $40, which includes Railroad fees and does not include meals, lodging, etc.

Steamtown National Historic Site (Pennsylvania)
Want to help our hobby? Like meeting people to show of your equipment and show what we do? Please join with Mid Atlantic Motorcars Association as we go to visit as invited guests of Steamtown to show off our unusual hobby, and share with the railroading public what our speeders did, their history, who NARCOA is, what we do and more. Can you help be a "Gandy Dancer", swing a spike hammer? There is a limit to how many can attend, as we will be on a section of tracks behind the shops as well as through the shops to demonstrate our cars, and we will be looking for different cars from over the years, so you must contact the EC for approval to attend with your car. Good public skills also required. Set up and set on will be Saturday morning at about 0700, and departure Sunday afternoon. If you can't bring a car, come out and support our hobby at this great event. This park is great to spend the day just walking around and seeing the huge railroad history and locomotives, shops, etc., so be part of it! As an aside, last year the park loved us, and wants us back!

This ride is limited to 12 cars.

We are hosting a new ride on the Iowa Northern Railroad with a set on in Vinton, Iowa and run to near Cedar Rapids in the morning and a trip to Waterloo in the afternoon. A meal is planned at the Vinton depot museum upon return from the south end morning trip. Full details will be posted as they become available.

Appanoose County Railroad (Iowa)
We refer to this as the full ride riding the entire APNC. We will start out with an evening run Friday evening with set on at 6:00pm just south of the water tower in the southeast part of Centerville with a 6:45pm safety meeting and a 7:00pm departure traveling out 20 miles just short of the IC&E diamond & returning for a 40 mile total night run for the early arrival people. Saturday set on will start at 6:30am with 8:00am safety meeting & departure we will travel 35 miles north to Albia on a combination of welded & jointed track. We will cross the IC&E diamond just south of Moravia with the possibility of seeing a train there. At Albia our line will cross the BNSF on an elevated crossing prior to reaching our turn around point in the Albia yard. After turning in Albia we will return south to Moravia to the depot museum where we will take our lunch break. The ladies at the museum always have a great meal prepared for us at a reasonable price which includes free admission to the museum. After lunch we will again cross the diamond & return to Centerville for a round trip of 70 miles. For those wishing to stay we will have another evening run at 7:00pm 20 miles out for a 40 mile total. And as always for those staying over we will run out 20 miles & back Sunday morning for those interested.
We will set on at Just south of the water tower in the southeast part of town at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:00am.

Wilmington and Western Railroad-Saturday October 3, 2015 Join us for a Saturday ride on the beautiful Wilmington and Western RR. We hope to run this line at least twice. We hope to go East of our NVF set-on location to the CSX Landenberg interchange and West to Hockessin for lunch. You may set off any time we pass the NVF set on location. After lunch additional trips can be made. Set on will begin at 7 AM (At Hockessin NVF Plant). This is a good way to start the weekend for those riding the Delaware Coast Line RR on Sunday. Travel time is about 90 minutes between the railroads. This is a Northern Central Railcar Association excursion. All NARCOA rules will be enforced and all cars inspected, Shunts are Prohibited. Delaware Coast Line (DCL) Railroad-Sunday October 4, 2015 Join us for a Sunday ride on the Delaware Coast Line RR’s Lewes Branch. This is the perfect way to end our NCRA 2015 First State weekend for those having chosen to ride the beautiful Wilmington and Western RR on Saturday. (NOTE: Travel time between the railroads is about 90 minutes) Sunday - Ride from Georgetown to Lewes, DE on the DCL (approx 40 Miles R/T). Unique features of this trip are crossing the Atlantic inter-coastal waterway on a unique, manually operated, swing-bridge. View the south end operations of the Cape May - Lewis auto ferry crossing the Delaware Bay. Ride to the Atlantic Ocean beach in your motor car. This is a Northern Central Railcar Association (NARCOA Affiliate) excursion. • NARCOA operating rules and insurance requirements will be enforced. • All cars will be inspected per NARCOA rules. Shunts are prohibited at all times. • Sunday's set on will begin at 7:30 AM (near Georgetown, DE) • Lunch facilities are available in Lewes- Toilets are available at Georgetown and Lewes • A-cars and Hirails are permitted. Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) (Missouri)
Come join us on this ride which runs northeast from Columbia to Centralia on an ex-Wabash track. We will set on beginning at 6:30am and have a scheduled 8:00am departure after a 7:45am safety meeting for the first run. See below for a set on location change! We will run this line two times during the day. Each run is approximately 44 miles round trip so we will have a total for the day of about 88 miles. There is a Lee's Chicken across the street from the tracks for our lunch break.
We will set on at 6501 Brown Station RD. at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:00am.

Ft. Leonard Wood Army Base (Missouri)
We will make two trips on this 20-mile scenic line through the Ozarks to the connection with the BNSF at Bundy Junction. Due to security issues, everyone will need a picture ID, vehicle registration and proof of insurance, and be prepared for a possible vehicle inspection. There has also been another requirement added this year. Everyone going on this run will need to fill out a form with full name, address, driver's license number, etc. prior to the excursion. Contact Carl for a security form. As you enter the fort from I-44, be in the left lane and pull into the inspection area by the security check point. Please bring lunch or snacks along as there won't be a stop for lunch between runs.
We will set on at Railroad Ave in SE part of the base. at 8:30am. Departure is scheduled for 10:00am.

We are closing out the 2011 ride season on the B&SV. We hope to have three trips during the day and possibly a night run. Enjoy the 156' high bridge and the Des Moines River bridge by the Y-Camp. The entire line is now open all the way to Wolf.
We will set on at B&SV depot at 7:00am. Departure is scheduled for 9:00am.
