The following is a list of upcoming "Speeder" events in North America and Australia. We have made every effort to insure accuracy, but mistakes do happen, so we will not be held responsible for errors or omissions.

Please note that virtually all of these events require operators to be qualified by NARCOA and to have valid NARCOA insurance in force. Some of the NARCOA affiliates require membership in their respective organizations. In some cases there are special qualification, equipment and clothing requirements. See respective websites for details. Non-NARCOA events are so noted.

Capital Metro transportation (Texas)
Join this fall run over the former SP Llano branch. This is a scenic stretch of tracks which parallels the Llano River and crosss the Colorado River on Lake LBJ. There will be abundant wildlife and open range vistas. Participants will travel from Llano through Kingsland to Scobey Spur. If time permits we will make a second trip to Kingsland.
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 54 miles.

This is a one-day run on the Blacklands railroad, a former Missouri Pacific line. We will make at least two round-trip runs between Henderson and Overton, With a third possible if time permits.
We will set on at Henderson.

This is a one-day run on the Blacklands Railroad, which is a former cotton belt line. Will travel between Winfield and Commerce.
We will set on at Winfield, Texas. 
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 125 miles. 
Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: Sturdy shoes and long pants required. No shorts or 10 issues. All cars must be preregistered. Experienced operators only, mentoring by permission only.

Mohawk, Adirondack and Northern (New York)
June, 29, 2013 1-day cost: $150. The price includes Railroad fees, and does not include meals and lodging. We suggest bringing lunches / food with you. There is a 35 car limit for this run. We need at least 22 cars 2 weeks before the scheduled date or the run will be annulled. This is a NARCOA insured excursion. All applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on. Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring Run. Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: Safety Vests, Hard Soled Over Ankle Shoes. Hy-rails permitted; heavy cars with permission only. Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable. You must be able to maintain 25 MPH on this run. As usual, NARCOA professionalism is expected and required on this run. Well behaved children over 10 years old permitted.

Saratoga North Creek (New York)
Saratoga and North Creek Saratoga and North Creek RR Out of North Creek, NY. Come join MAMA for our second year on this trip over the beautiful North Creek Railroad as we travel out of North Creek to the end of line. Friday Set On will begin approximately 12:00 PM with an afternoon run and night run possible, going South to Riparius. Saturdays run will leave when the railroad clears, and we will travel South to Saratoga Springs and turn for our trip back. Sunday's run is North over new trackage to the mine at Tahawus, where titanium and magnetite were mined, should be exciting to see this, it sure was last year. At this time, lunch is on your own, but stay tuned for updates.As Monday is a Holiday, it leaves a day for getting home leisurely.
We will set on at North Creek, NY at 1200 hrs. 
Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 218 miles. This ride is limited to 35 cars.

We will ride from Luverne east to Agate Jct. west of Worthington and return to Luverne for lunch at the grocery store near the depot. We'll run the line again eastward in the afternoon for a 120 mile grand total.
We will set on at Minnesota Southern depot at 7:00 am. Departure is scheduled for 8:45am.

NYSW Utica Branch (New York)
The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 1-day, 90 mile excursion on the New York Susquehanna & Western Utica branch. Combined with the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley on August 2, 2015. This will be a great weekend riding the rails with MAMA. The price for the 1-day event is $60, which includes railroad fees. It does not include meals and lodging. We suggest bringing lunches/food with you. There is a 35 car limit for this run; We will set on in Sangerfield, NY, and travel back to Utica along this grand old route. Come and enjoy a great weekend of railroading with MAMA as we travel through scenic upstate New York! This is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on.Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring run. The NYS&W requires that ALL operators pass a Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee (NORAC) guidelines test prior to the excursion. If you are in possession of a current NORAC certification from another railroad, please include a copy with your registration form so that we may submit it to the NYS&W prior to the event. If you do not have a current certification, a NORAC classs/test will be available online. If you have attended a previous class and possess current NORAC certification you do not need to take the online class, but must bring proof with you to the excursion. We are sorry for any inconvenience or problem this might cause, but this is a requirement of the railroad. NORAC certification is good for three full years Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests, hard soled over ankle shoes, radios are required. Hi-rails permitted and heavy cars with permission only. Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable. You must be able to maintain 25 MPH on this run. We may be interfacing with train traffic, so breakdowns cannot be afforded.

The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 1-day, 30 mile run over the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley on August 2, 2015. Combined with the Saturday, August 1, 2015 excursion on the New York Susquehanna & Western Utica branch. This will be a great weekend riding the rails with MAMA. Participants will travel approximately 30 round trip miles between Milford, NY and Cooperstown Junction, NY. We will set on at Milford, NY at 07:30am, travel south to Cooperstown Junction, turn the cars, and head back North to Cooperstown. Departure is scheduled for 08:30am. We anticipate being in Cooperstown for two hours, so you will be able to see the sights, have lunch, and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. This ride is limited to 35 cars. Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a non-mentoring Run. This is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked/inspected, and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on. Steamtown National Historic Site (Pennsylvania)
Want to help our hobby? Like meeting people to show of your equipment and show what we do? Please join with Mid Atlantic Motorcars Association as we go to visit as invited guests of Steamtown to show off our unusual hobby, and share with the railroading public what our speeders did, their history, who NARCOA is, what we do and more. Can you help be a "Gandy Dancer", swing a spike hammer? There is a limit to how many can attend, as we will be on a section of tracks behind the shops as well as through the shops to demonstrate our cars, and we will be looking for different cars from over the years, so you must contact the EC for approval to attend with your car. Good public skills also required. Set up and set on will be Saturday morning at about 0700, and departure Sunday afternoon. If you can't bring a car, come out and support our hobby at this great event. This park is great to spend the day just walking around and seeing the huge railroad history and locomotives, shops, etc., so be part of it! As an aside, last year the park loved us, and wants us back!
We will set on at Scranton, PA at 0700. 
This ride is limited to 12 cars.

Our route will follow Chester Creek and pass a number of historic railroad stations. Everett RR/WMD Scenic RR (Pennsylvania/Maryland/West Virginia)
Everett Railroad-- Saturday April 30, 2016 Join us in our 16th year of excursions on this railroad. In the previous fifteen trips, the runs totaled 55- 60 miles. We expect the same in 2016. The set-on is at Hollidaysburg, PA . We will travel south to Claysburg and turn the cars. Restrooms will be available. Then we will return to Hollidaysburg, turn the cars, and travel south to Roaring Spring’s RR station, where we will take our lunch and restroom stop. Lunch and ice cream will be available at the station. Details will be sent to those who register. The station’s restroom and a portable toilet will be available. After lunch we will continue south to Martinsburg, turn our cars on the wye, and retrace our route back to Hollidaysburg with an ice cream stop at Roaring Spring Station on the way. This will be a Northern Central Railcar Assoc. excursion. NARCOA rules will be enforced. There is a 40 car limit. Cost is $45 per car. From our set-on at the engine house in Ridgeley, WV, we will travel past the former Western Maryland RR station, through the narrows, and up the mountain to Frostburg. We expect to turn the speeders on the turntable, take a lunch/toilet break, and then return. Approximate round trip mileage will be 34 miles. We hope to be off the rails by 3PM, giving everyone an early trip home. This will be a NARCOA excursion. All NARCOA rules will be enforced. All cars will be inspected. There is a 40 car limit. Price for this excursion is $40 per car. St. Croix Valley Railroad (Minnesota)
We will ride between the entire line with the exception of about two miles between North Branch and Hinckley both days. Set on will be at 6:30am on Saturday at the Rush City depot with a safety meeting at 7:45 and a departure at 8am. Anyone arriving after 7:45am will not be allowed to run. We will head north stopping in Pine City for a potty break, coffee and a roll. Then we'll continue north to Hinckley Jct, turn our cars, and head south. We will again stop at PIne City for lunch, head south to 410th street, and then back to Rush City for the night. The Sunday ride would be the same thing.
We will set on at Rush City depot at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:00am.

Minnesota Northern / Dakota Northern (Minnesota/North Dakota)
The First Iowa Division will host a three (3) day Memorial Day excursion on the Minnesota Northern and Dakota Northern Railroads. DAY 1 – Minnesota Northern Railroad – Holt, MN to Roseau, MN and return. Due to trains being parked on the line, our set on location has changed. Approximate mileage is unknown at this time. Safety meeting will take place at 7:45 a.m. with a departure time of 8 a.m. sharp. Anyone arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event. DAY 2 – Dakota Northern Railroad – Grafton, ND to Walhalla, ND and return. Approximate mileage will be 96 miles. Set on will be at the ADM elevator parking lot from 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. Safety meeting will be at 8:45 a.m. with a 9 a.m. departure time. Anyone arriving after 8:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event. We will have lunch in Walhalla ($9 per person) before returning to Grafton. DAY 3 – Minnesota Northern Railroad – Crookston, MN to Beltrami, MN and return. Due to cars being stored on the Shelly line, we won't be able to ride this section. We hope to run the Beltrami line twice. Approximate mileage is unknown at this time. Set on will be at the MNN shop at Crookston, MN from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Safety meeting will be at 7:45 a.m. with an 8 a.m. departure time. Anyone arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in this event.
We will set on at South of Holt, MN by the repair shops, Grafton by the ADM elevator, Crookston by the MNN shops at 6:00. Departure is scheduled for 8:00.

The Mid-Atlantic Motorcar Association (MAMA) is pleased to announce a 2-day, approximately 130 mile run over the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad as well as the Carbondale Line and the Lurel Line Trollry Line on June 18th and 19th. On Saturday we will have a early set-on (details to follow), Saturday we plan to run the Carbondale Line, and time permitting, The Laurel lie with the switchback. Sunday we will run the D/L to the Gap and return, with a lunch stop at Moscow, hopefully catered by the Moscow Train Society. (been great for several trips) More details to follow

Nebraska Northwestern Railroad (Nebraska)
The Nebraska Northwestern Railroad is inviting motorcar owners to participate in the annual Trading Day in Chadron, NE. Operators are requested to give rides to visitors of the event during the day on Saturday and will hve an opportunity to ride the rail line from Chadron west across the White River bridge to the RCP&E junction and then east of town to the end if the line or beginning of the stored cars. Operators will also get to operate their speeders through the shop yard and take a spin on the operating turntable. We hope to make 2 round trips Saturday evening, time permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the roundhouse will be available to protect the motorcars. Parking is available at the facility and those with campers may park there as well as on the paved area where the rides will be given. There will be a parade on Saturday and any operator interested in showing off their car (while trailered) is encouraged to participate. If you wish to take a break from giving rides and enjoy a tour or other festivities during the day, a setout track is available. Tours will also be given throughout the day of the roundhouse and existing facilities of the onetime C&NW Western Division headquarters. Former C&NW employees will be on hand to give a history of the facilities and memorabilia will also be available for your viewing pleasure. Former C&NW locomotives and a caboose will also be on display. This is a must attend for the railroad history buff! This is a non-NARCOA event but NARCOA rules will be followed. All certified operators are invited to attend. There is no ride fee and all riders will be asked to sign railroad- provided waivers
We will set on at South of the roundhouse at Friday evening.

We refer to this as the full ride riding the entire APNC. We will start out with an evening run Friday evening with set on at 6:00pm just south of the water tower in the southeast part of Centerville with a 6:45pm safety meeting and a 7:00pm departure traveling out 20 miles just short of the IC&E diamond & returning for a 40 mile total night run for the early arrival people. Saturday set on will start at 6:30am with 8:00am safety meeting & departure we will travel 35 miles north to Albia on a combination of welded & jointed track. We will cross the IC&E diamond just south of Moravia with the possibility of seeing a train there. At Albia our line will cross the BNSF on an elevated crossing prior to reaching our turn around point in the Albia yard. After turning in Albia we will return south to Moravia to the depot museum where we will take our lunch break. The ladies at the museum always have a great meal prepared for us at a reasonable price which includes free admission to the museum. In order to give the museum folks an idea of how much food to prepare, please RSVP Carl with the number of people in your group that will be eating in Moravia. After lunch we will again cross the diamond & return to Centerville for a round trip of 70 miles. For those wishing to stay we will have another evening run at 7:00pm 20 miles out for a 40 mile total. And as always for those staying over we will run out 20 miles & back Sunday morning for those interested.
We will set on at Just south of the water tower in the southeast part of town at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:00am.

The First Iowa Division has again been asked to provide rides to the public for a fund raiser that the VFW hosts for restoring the Centerville Depot. This will be conducted the same as last year we will operate under their insurance policy Saturday August 6, 2016. Set on will begin at 6:30am just south of the water tower in the southeast part of town. I would like to thank everyone who came out & volunteered their cars & time last year & hope you can attend this year as we had many riders. As an added bonus for doing so the First Iowa Division will have an evening ride Friday August 5th with set on at 6:30pm & safety meeting & departure at 7:00pm riding up to the diamond & back. Sunday August 7th we will have a safety meeting at 8:00am & ride out 20 miles & back. Please note the VFW August 6th ride is not a NARCOA ride nor is it sanctioned by the First Iowa Division.

We are hosting a 1-day ride from Clarksville, Iowa. We will run from Clarksville to Manly in the morning with a stop at the Rockford depot museum on the way north. A catered lunch is being planned at the Manly Junction Railroad Museum for our lunch break and details for the lunch will be added as soon as they become available. We will also have an opportunity to tour the museum before heading back south to near Cedar Falls where we'll turn and head back to the set on location at Clarksville. A stop in Greene is planned for a quick restroom break southbound as well.

The First Iowa Division will host a 2-day ride on the DMV&W Railroad at Britton, SD. We will possibly have an early set on Friday between 5 and 8pm by the elevator in downtown Britton. On Saturday morning, We will continue the set on at 6:30am with a scheduled departure of 8:15am. We'll run to Aberdeen Jct. with a stop both directions at Claremont and return to Britton in mid-afternoon. There will be a few hour break before leaving again at 4:45pm for an on-your-own supper at Rutland before continuing on to Geneseo and turning the cars. It will be dark returning to Britton so be sure your lights are functioning properly. On Sunday morning we'll depart Britton at 9:15am for a coffee and fresh cinnamon roll break at Rutland and then continue on to Geneseo again and then return to Britton to set off and travel to Milbank for those participating in that excursion.
We will set on at By the elevator in downtown Britton at 6:30am. Departure is scheduled for 8:15am.

Friday: We will start set on mid to late afternoon and plan to take two round trips to Keystone Friday afternoon/evening. We will leave the cars on the track Friday evening. Saturday: We will have four round trips and will be following the steam train the entire time so we will have a tight schedule. We may have a bring your own lunch Saturday noon at the siding at Oblivion. Also hoping to have extended time at Keystone on our last trip of the day on Saturday. Some have expressed an interest in riding a couple of trips and then sitting out the rest of the day. The railroad said they would have a track you can store your car out of the way while you are gone so we should be able to accommodate those requests. Sunday: We will have one trip in the morning and will be following the train. We will then set off after the train departs. We should be cleared by 12 pm. Monday: Open day to travel home or visit the sites in the Black Hills. Please send in your trip fee of $80 made out to First Iowa Division to Dave Voeltz at the address listed below.

Come join us on this ride which runs northeast from Columbia to Centralia on an ex-Wabash track. We will set on beginning at 6:30am and have a scheduled 8:00am departure after a 7:45am safety meeting for the first run. See below for a set on location change! We will run this line two times during the day. Each run is approximately 44 miles round trip so we will have a total for the day of about 88 miles. There is a Lee's Chicken across the street from the tracks for our lunch break.

Ft. Leonard Wood Army Base (Missouri)
We will make two trips on this 20-mile scenic line through the Ozarks to the connection with the BNSF at Bundy Junction. Due to security issues, everyone will need a picture ID, vehicle registration and proof of insurance, and be prepared for a possible vehicle inspection. There has also been another requirement added this year. Everyone going on this run will need to fill out a form with full name, address, driver's license number, etc. prior to the excursion. Contact Carl for a security form. As you enter the fort from I-44, be in the left lane and pull into the inspection area by the security check point. Please bring lunch or snacks along as there won't be a stop for lunch between runs.
We will set on at Railroad Ave in SE part of the base. at 8:30am. Departure is scheduled for 10:00am.
