Railroad layout

Excavation complete..promised to build a patio (loading platform) as well

Squaring up the grade and setting the depth. Notice the motorcar is under blue flag protection.

Crushed Granite "ballast" found for free on Craigslist (kinda)

All squared up and ready to go

The "ties" arrive - actually recycled pressure treated 6"x8"x6' road barrier timbers.

In goes the ballast and the 60° crossover

Set the M19 on just to see how it looks. The iron is 20# mine rail.

And the pushcart on the setoff/cross track

Laying out the 60° crossover

Layout of the crossover

Fitting the 60 deg crossover rails and guard rails
